It is doubtful that in 2011 there will be a new guitar Collectors Series, but there are at least four new Adamas, Adamas I do not cataway GT, GT II cataway Adamas, Adamas WT with "sitka spruce top, Adamas II SR, similar to 2080 with the contour bowl (the other hand will have the classic deep bowl). Charlie Byrd, one of the first Ovation actually felt like we have known then it was a guitar with steel strings, and not adapted to its genre and its style, suggested that Kaman to build the first "classic" Ovation. But the name Ovation
was not suggested by Byrd!
Kaman had a good list of potential names for the newborn guitar. Ovation remained and the others were discarded.
So it was with the name of the first guitar, and the Balladeer. The Balladeer
were already a band before playing a 'Ovation, then the first guitar that does not lead (again) their names but only the written Ovation.

Sunday, October 17 was held just for fun a little gathering of two passionate dell'Ovation. After several attempts my friend Luke D. came to see me and we have put together a small event under the watchful eyes of their wives (whom we thank not only for food but for the patience). In addition to the various information exchange noramalmente fans, Luke brought his two gems, a beautiful legend 1617 (with a bracing VT) and an amazing Custom Legend 1619 (A bracied). Both in sunburst.
I fielded my mini collection, with pieces such as vintage Deluxe Balladeer a shiny box, but the most important (and fun) was to explore with the sound differences that exist between a model and another and between different types of bracing. As well as the jump time between the models of the early dell'Ovation and those just out. What can I say, we spent a beautiful afternoon to play, touch, look, take pictures .......
experience to be repeated and, if we succeed, to be extended to all European OFCers a real European Ovation Fan Club Gathering. Who knows, maybe in 2011 .......

Applause parallel to the project, which was ready for the launch of the June 1975 NAMM (but all'Ovation hesitated and the applause was born in 1976 collection all'Adamas), also gave birth at home Ovation guitar its twin, the Matrix.

P er the 100th post on this blog about the beloved, I want to briefly tell with great effort of memory, my first encounter with the Ovation. I do not remember, and to be honest I have not done research yet, when the Ovation is landed in Italy, and who was the first distributor. I just remember that until the early 70s and only in large cities and in the concerts are starting to see some Ovation: we exchanged information with friends or read on Hello 2001 or The Wild Bunch dell'Ovation performance and how "new" electro / acoustic field between the musicians were taking the time.

The first Ovation seen and touched by the "live" was a magnificent "Anniversary" lobster color of a dear friend. It was in 1976. A beautiful guitar, brand new. You can imagine the excitement.
